How to Enable Theme Blocks and Checkout Purchase Tracking for Conversios GA4 App

To track ecommerce actions and purchases in Google Analytics 4, two steps are required:

  1. Enable theme blocks (for storefront events)
  2. Add checkout purchase code (for checkout & order confirmation)

No coding knowledge is required.

Step 1: Enable Theme Blocks

Theme blocks are required to track storefront events such as:

  • Product views
  • Add to cart
  • Begin checkout

How to Enable Theme Blocks

  1. In the app, click Activate Blocks Now
  2. Shopify will open the Theme Editor
  3. Open App embeds
  4. Enable:
    • Conversios App– Block 1
    • Conversios App– Block 2
  5. Click Save
  6. Close the theme editor

Back in the app:

  • Check “I have successfully activated block 1 & block 2”
  • Click Save & Next

Step 2: Enable Checkout & Purchase Tracking

This step is required to track:

  • Checkout steps
  • Purchases
  • Revenue

Copy the Checkout Code

  1. Click Copy Code in the “Enable Checkout purchase events” popup

Add Code in Shopify Customer Events

  1. Go to Shopify Admin → Settings
  2. Open Customer Events
  3. Click Add custom pixel
  4. Enter a name
    Recommended: Conversios Google Analytics 4
  5. Paste the copied code into the code editor
  6. Click Save
  7. Click Connect

Step 3: Finish Setup

  1. Return to the app
  2. Select:
    “I have successfully added the checkout and purchase snippet under Settings → Customer Events.”
  3. Click Finish

You will see a confirmation message once setup is complete.
