How to Install & Set Up Conversios for Microsoft Ads
This guide helps you install Conversios for Microsoft Ads and configure Microsoft Ads tracking, product syncing, and optional pixels.
π The app is free to install.
Step 1: Install the App
- Open Shopify Admin
- Go to Apps > Search for Conversios for Microsoft Ads and Click Install

Once installed, open the app from Shopify Admin β Apps.
Step 2: Sign in with Microsoft
To connect Microsoft Ads and Microsoft Merchant Center:

- Open Conversios for Microsoft Ads from Shopify Admin β Apps
- Go to App Settings
- Under Microsoft Authentication, click Sign in with Microsoft
- Log in using the Microsoft account linked to:
- Microsoft Ads
- Microsoft Merchant Center
Once signed in, your Microsoft accounts become available in the app.
Step 3: Connect Microsoft Ads Account
- Select your Microsoft Ads Manager Account
- Select the Microsoft Ads Sub Account
These accounts are used for conversion tracking and Microsoft Ads campaigns.
Step 4: Select or Create a UET Tag
The Microsoft Universal Event Tracking (UET) tag is required for conversion tracking.
- Under Microsoft Ads Pixel (Bing), select an existing UET tag
- If you donβt have one, click Create New to create a UET tag
The selected UET tag is automatically installed on your Shopify store.
Step 5: Enable Conversion Tracking Events
After the UET tag is connected, conversion events are available to enable.
The following Shopify events can be tracked in Microsoft Ads:
- Add to Cart β When a product is added to the cart
- Begin Checkout β When checkout is started
- Purchase β When an order is completed and confirmed
How to enable events
- Click Enable Now next to each conversion event
- Once enabled, the event status updates to Enabled
Important Note
Purchase tracking works only when customers land on the Shopify Thank You page after payment.
If a payment gateway does not redirect back to this page, the purchase cannot be tracked.
Step 6: Enable Optional Pixels (After Conversion Tracking)
After conversion tracking is active, you can enable additional tracking pixels.

Microsoft Clarity
Enable Microsoft Clarity to access session recordings, heatmaps, and visitor interaction insights.
LinkedIn Insight Pixel
Enable LinkedIn Insight Pixel to track page views and build audiences for LinkedIn Ads.
No additional scripts are required.

Step 7: Product Feed Sync (Microsoft Merchant Center)
Once tracking and optional pixels are set up:
- Shopify products sync automatically to Microsoft Merchant Center
- Product price and availability stay updated
- No manual feed upload is required
This enables Microsoft Shopping Ads and free product listings.
Step 8: Save & Complete Setup
- Click Save & Next
- Review your configuration
- Setup is complete
Tracking and product syncing begin automatically.
After Setup: What to Check
- Confirm the UET tag is active in Microsoft Ads
- Test Add to Cart and Checkout actions
- Check Microsoft Merchant Center for product sync status
- Allow time for conversion data to appear in Microsoft Ads
