Feature Overview (SST Free Plugin)

The Server Side GTM Tracking Plugin for WooCommerce helps store owners collect more reliable conversion and event data by sending tracking events through a server-side Google Tag Manager (GTM) container, instead of relying only on browser-based scripts.

By moving event delivery to the server, the plugin reduces data loss caused by browser restrictions, ad blockers, and iOS privacy limitations, while keeping setup simple and fully managed inside WordPress.

This document covers features available in the free version only.

Advanced platforms, behavior analytics, and product feed capabilities are available in the Pro Plan.

Core Capabilities

Google Tag Manager Server-Side Integration

The plugin connects your WooCommerce store with a server-side Google Tag Manager container.

  • Sends events from your server instead of the browser
  • Improves event delivery reliability on Safari, iOS, and privacy-focused browsers
  • Works alongside your existing GTM web container

This setup allows GTM to act as a single routing layer for analytics and ad platforms

Works with Multiple Ad and Analytics Platforms

The plugin does not lock you into a single platform.

Using GTM server-side, the same events can be forwarded to:

  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
  • Google Ads
  • Meta (Facebook)
  • TikTok
  • Snapchat

All routing and logic is managed centrally inside Google Tag Manager.

Upgrade to Pro to enable additional platforms like Pinterest, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), behavior analytics tools, and product feed integrations.

Event Deduplication Support

To avoid double-counting conversions, the plugin supports event deduplication.

  • Browser and server events share the same event ID
  • Prevents inflated purchase and conversion numbers

This is essential when running both browser-side and server-side tracking together.
